Ages- 8 & in 3rd grade as of Sept. 1, 2020
to 18 years old.

The Thursday/Sunday 3 Position .22 Rifle Course will start on January 7, 2021 and run 6:30-8:00 PM on Thursday & 2-4 on Sunday.  This course is to teach precision shooting in the prone, kneeling and standing positions of rifle shooting.

The age divisions for competition are:

Juniors 3rd-5th grade (shoot prone only)

Intermediates 6th-8th grade

Seniors 9th-12th grade

The club tries to provide the precision .22 rifles that are needed for this event to make it easier for kids to get involved.  The kids may want to purchase a sling and shooting jacket after they get signed up, but only after consulting a coach.  The kids provide their own ammo. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE UNTIL AFTER THE FIRST PRACTICE.

The group will meet on Thursday, 6:30-8:00 PM for instruction and then on Sunday, 2:00-4:00 PM, for range time.  Each member must attend Thursday and Sunday practice.  If a member misses Thursday, they will not shoot on Sunday.

We are trying to develop precision 3 position .22 rifle shooters and each shooter will have an opportunity to shoot in an official match as an individual in early March.  Following the match, the top 6 juniors, the top 6 intermediates and the top 10 seniors will be invited  to represent Midland County at the District 6 team match  in April.  If the 9th-12th grade team places 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the match, they will earn a spot at the Texas State 4-H Rifle Match!
